The Caverns for Subterranean Live Music and Amphitheater Events
This world-renowned destination for underground live music is a bucket list experience that keeps fans coming back for “The Greatest Show Under Earth.” The Caverns is home of the Emmy-winning PBS television series Bluegrass Underground, and a magical cave system for different skill levels of exploration. In October of 2020, The Caverns opened an above ground Amphitheater to bring back live music in a responsible way with outdoor, socially distanced concerts.
Bonnaroo for The Music & Arts Festival of a Lifetime
You may be surprised to learn that two iconic music experiences – The Caverns and Bonnaroo – are a stone’s throw from our door. We have to pinch ourselves sometimes to make sure we’re not dreaming. Rolling Stone magazine ranked Bonnaroo among the “50 Moments That Changed Rock & Roll.” ‘Roo, as insiders call it, was named “Festival of the Decade” by Consequence of Sound, and among the 10 Best Festivals by GQ Magazine. Artists who have walked through these very doors: Sir Paul McCartney, Childish Gambino, J.Cole, Elton John, The Boss, U2, and on and on. Though it only happens once a year for four days, Bonnaroo elevates our town year-round, kinda like Woodstock.
South Jackson Civic Center for Inspiring Performing Arts
Regional Performing Arts are the cultural manna for small towns and rural communities, not to mention they provide a surprising entertainment experience for out-of-town guests. South Jackson Civic Center brings great shows like “The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber” and “Motowners.” Regional theater productions include “Always…Patsy Cline,” and Stephen Sondheim’s “Into The Woods.” Want to dance the night away? The MAC is a place where local artists, including actors and painters, are encouraged to spread their wings and soar. The MAC is home to the Millennium Repertory Company and houses the works for many local artists, much of which are available for purchase.
